Former IZ*ONE member Kim Minju has left MBC’s “Music Core” after 960 days of MCing.
On January 28th, Kim Minju hosted the last broadcast of MBC’s “Music Core” as an MC after 960 days, the longest period among all MCs.
Kim Minju has received much love from viewers and fans for her role as “Music Core” MC alongside NCT’s Jungwoo and Stray Kids’ Lee Know.
About the news of her leaving Music Core, Kim Minju said, “I was happy to spend the weekends listening to good songs with good people every Saturday. I am really grateful to the Music Core family and fans who have always watched me warmly.”
After her last broadcast, Kim Minju comforted fans by posting photos of the gift certificate prepared by “Music Core” production team and photos looking back at her MC journey for three years on her Instagram.
Kim Minju’s departure from “Music Core” is reportedly to focus on her acting career.
After she became a trainee through street casting, Kim Minju became active as a student model. She appeared in music videos or acted as a model for commercials.
In 2016, she participated in EBS1’s kids audition show “Boni Hani”. After being an trainee for 2 years and 10 months, she made her debut in IZ*ONE through Mnet’s girl group survival show “Produce 48.”
Since her IZ*ONE debut, Kim Minju has been known for her outstanding visuals and gentle personality. When she was competing on “Produce 48”, her high school homeroom teacher directly posted a message of support for her, saying, “Minju is sincere and polite.”
After the disbandment of IZ*ONE, Kim Minju signed an exclusive contract with Management Soop, where actors Gong Yoo, Nam Joo Hyuk, Suzy, and Gong Hyo Jin belong, and started her full-fledged transformation as an actress.
Kim Minju was recently recognized for her acting skills by winning Best New Actress at the MBC Drama Awards for her role as Crown Princess Ahn in MBC’s “The Forbidden Marriage”.
