Choi Woo-sik’s old video mentioning his ex-girlfriend is going viral on Korean online communities
An old video of actor Choi Woo-sik is drawing attention.
Recently, on SNS and YouTube, a video in which Choi Woo-sik appeared on a variety show and mentioned his ex-girlfriend was re-examined. In 2015, Choi Woo-sik once appeared on tvN’s “Taxi” and talked about his ex-lover.
At that time, Choi Woo-sik confessed, “I used to date (my ex-girlfriend) for about 5 years. In a way, I started acting because of her.”
He shared, “I originally wanted to study directing in Canada, but my girlfriend whom I was dating at the time said ‘Men without double eyelids (like you) are popular in Korea now. Actors such as Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) and Lee Jun-ki are making people go crazy.’ So at that time, I thought it wouldn’t be bad to learn acting first before studying directing.”
He explained, “At that time, my girlfriend helped me apply for an online audition in Korea. I passed the audition and came to Korea from Canada.”
Choi Woo-sik thanked his ex-girlfriend, saying that he was able to choose his acting career because of her. He surprised everyone by revealing, “I couldn’t do much for her when I was dating her. So after we broke up, I tried to buy her delicious food and kept in touch with her.”
7 years later, this content received attention again. This is because the character Choi Woong (played by Choi Woo-sik) in SBS’ drama “Our Beloved Summer” and his actual love life are quite similar.
