Celebrities express their thoughts about the Itaewon disaster… “It’s so annoying”

Writer Heo Ji-woong, actor Kim Ki-cheon, and influencer Kim Jang-mi revealed their opinions on the Itaewon disaster that recently caused numerous casualties.

On November 1st, Heo Ji-woong made a long post on his personal SNS account, saying “I sat down from early in the morning to write the opening speech for the radio. While repeatedly writing and erasing it, I wondered what I could write about and what I should use it for even after finishing it as my composure has not recovered yet.”

Heo Ji-woong continued, “In a world where citizenship is disqualified if there is no organizer. In a flood of words that you’ve done too many times and don’t need to be responsible for anymore. I’m actually feeling like all of the useful words have disappeared from my mouth and even my fingertips.”

On the same day, actor Kim Ki-cheon also wrote on his SNS, saying “Due to those incompetent, irresponsible, and imprudent people, I can’t sleep or digest anything at night and it’s hard to bear that frustration”, expressing his feelings after hearing the news of the Itaewon disaster.

Kim Ki-cheon said, “Don’t force everyone to pay condolences. I hope strict punishments will be given to those who only make excuses and avoid responsibilities”, strongly criticizing government officials.

Unlike Heo Ji-woong and Kim Ki-cheon, influencer-broadcaster Kim Jang-mi confessed her displeasure with the reality that people return to their daily life so quickly after the Itaewon disaster.

On October 31st, Kim Jang-mi made a post in English, sayingI understand that people need to overcome the tragedy that happened last weekend, but it’s so annoying to see people post about their daily life again so quickly.”

Kim Jang-mi continued, “For what? To tell people about the cafe you recently visited? To show who you hung out with? Everyone, please pay attention to your surroundings. I really hate people sometimes.”

In addition, Jung Jae-ho, who appeared on Channel A’s “Heart Signal 2” with Kim Jang-mi, revealed that he lost his acquaintance due to the Itaewon disaster, drawing great regret.

Meanwhile, a large-scale crush accident occurred in Itaewon-dong, Seoul on the evening of October 29th when a huge crowd gathered there for Halloween. As of 11 a.m on November 1st, there have been 156 deaths and 151 injuries.

Accordingly, the government decided to hold a national mourning period until November 5th. The entire entertainment industry has expressed condolences and broadcasters also canceled a number of entertainment programs.
