BTS’s Jimin has added another song with over 100 million views to his solo MVs
The YouTube views for Jimin’s first solo album’s title track, “Like Crazy,” surpassed 100 million on October 5th at 12:29 PM KST. With this achievement, Jimin has now owned another solo MV with 100 million views following the pre-release track “Set Me Free Part 2.”
“Like Crazy” reached number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 111 countries and regions worldwide upon its release. It also topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking and reached 8th place on the UK Official Singles Chart. This song made history as Jimin became the first Korean soloist to reach No.1 on Billboard Hot 100 (as of April 8).
“Like Crazy” is a synth-pop genre song where Jimin’s emotional vocals contrast with intense synths and drum sounds. Jimin drew inspiration from his personal favorite movie “Like Crazy,” and expressed emotions of post-breakup loss, pain, and the moment of escape from reality to forget that pain, much like the movie’s storyline.
The dreamy MV depicts the moments when Jimin escapes from reality, featuring disorienting lighting, and unconventional shot compositions. Particularly, Jimin’s portrayal of moments of ‘self-awareness’ when facing the ‘self’ in the mirror is captivating, blending reality and fantasy.
