BTS, BLACKPINK & Lim Young Woong won Popularity Awards at the 2022 AAA

BTS, BLACKPINK and Lim Young Woong were named as winners at the 2022 Asia Artist Awards.

The ‘2022 Asia Artists Awards in JAPAN’ (hereinafter referred to as “2022 AAA”) was held at Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan on December 13th.

Lim Young Woong and BLACKPINK were awarded the DCM Popularity Award.

Lim Young Woong released the album “IM HERO” in May and his double single album “Polaroid” in November. In particular, his first self-composed song “London Boy” from “Polaroid” received favorable reviews from music listeners.

BLACKPINK released their second full album “BORN PINK” in September. The two songs “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down” from “BORN PINK, an album that proves the unique color and confidence of BLACKPINK, became big hits in 2022. The girl group didn’t attend the award ceremony since they’re holding a concert tour, so the trophy will be delivered to them instead. 

BTS was honored with the AAA Idolplus Popular Award. 

World-famous boy group BTS released their anthology album “Proof” in June. Through the title song “Yet To Come”, they look back on their music journey and promise a more brilliant future. The eldest member Jin also enlisted in the military through the boot camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do earlier on the same day. 

Meanwhile, this year’s award ceremony was attended by many famous singers and idols, such as Lim Young Woong, Seventeen, Stray Kids, The Boyz, TREASURE, IVE, Kep1er, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, etc. The lineup also included actors who shone with outstanding films, dramas and theater stages this year, such as Choi Si Won, Park Min Young, Kwon Yu Ri, Kim Se Jeong, Han So Hee, Lee Jun Ho, Kim Seon Ho, etc. The Gala show “2022 AAA AFTER STAGE” will also be held for the first time on December 14th, a day after the main award ceremony.
