‘Bong Joon-ho’s New Film’ Star Robert Pattinson Reveals Diet Addiction, “I Ate Nothing But Potatoes For 2 Weeks”

“Twilight” & “Batman” star Robert Pattinson confessed his deep fear and diet addiction before doing a movie

37-year-old actor Robert Pattinson met with writer and comedian Jordan Firstman for Interview magazine and talked about his character. The actor explained, “I have a deep, deep fear of humiliation”, adding “And also, you sort of know it’s down to you. You can say it’s a shitty script or the director’s a dick or blah, blah, blah, but at the end of the day, no one’s going to care about the reasons.”

He added, “You’re the one who everyone’s going to say is lame. And the vast majority of people will say you’re lame even when you tried your best.”

Pattinson, who made his film debut at the age of 17, also confessed the difficulties he faced when pursuing his career as a Hollywood actor. He shared, “I’m constantly thinking that you’re just going to spend the vast majority of your life unemployed and desperate and kind of feeling like you’re a total failure. I think that’s just what life is.”

Earlier in an interview with ES Magazine earlier this year, Pattinson mentioned another concern of Hollywood stars, which is the pressure to look in a certain way. He emphasized that he had made a great effort to achieve an ideal Hollywood appearance.

The actor said there was nothing wrong with his body image but admitted that expectations for men’s and women’s appearances in showbiz were “crazy”. Revealing that he had “diet addiction”, Pattinson said, “It’s very easy to fall into that pattern”.

He continued, “I once ate nothing but potatoes for two weeks, as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt. Apparently, it’s a cleanse… you definitely lose weight”. The Hollywood star pointed out an unexpected fact that he had tried all kinds of popular diets.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne in “Batman” sequel by Matt Reeves, which is already in production. He will also star in director Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi film “Mickey 17”, which is scheduled to premiere next year.
