WJSN’s Bona talked about Kim Tae-ri’s passion for acting when the two worked together in the drama “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”.
MBC’s entertainment program “Radio Star”, which aired on the evening of April 27th, featured Myung Se-bin, Yoon Eun-hye, Bona, Heo Kyung-hwan in the “First Love on the TV” Special.
Bona, who performed enthusiastically as the fencing gold medalist Ko Yu-rim in “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”, drew attention as she how she was trained and guided by Won Woo-young, a member of the national fencing team. It is known that actress Kim Tae-ri, who played Ko Yu-rim’s fencing rival Na Hee-do, started practicing fencing 4 months before Bona.
Bona, who is quite competitive, said that Kim Tae-ri also has a strong desire to win so they actually had a fencing match before the official filming. Bona shared, “I could feel the difference between actors and idols. Actors build a solid foundation and then improve their skills, while idols are used to using their maximum energy in short periods of time. Kim Tae-ri played so well, but I won the game”.
Bona also talked about Kim Tae-ri’s extraordinary passion for fencing, saying, “I was so surprised to see her working so hard”, sharing an anecdote she had with Kim Tae-ri. She mentioned the scene in which Kim Tae-ri wears sandbags for the training and said, “I once invited Kim Tae-ri to my house, and she appeared with her whole body soaked in sweat”. It was because Kim Tae-ri had been running with sandbags for more than 30 minutes, just like the scene in the drama.
“I was so shocked, in a positive way”, Bona showed her admiration for Kim Tae-ri’s extraordinary passion for portraying her character. In addition, Bona proudly said, “I appeared on ‘Idol Star Athletics Championships’ and shot an X-ten”. She then told the story of how she lightly won an archery match against Kim Tae-ri.
