During the interview, director Kim said he was completely taken aback by the news of Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving case accident broke out while he was editing “Bloodhounds” in May last year.

He confessed, “When things that I couldn’t control happen, many thoughts about what I should do to take responsibility flew around in my mind like bullets and I couldn’t organize anything. Kim Sae Ron’s narrative continued until episode 7, so I had to do my best to minimize viewers’ discomfort when watching the drama. We halted the production for about a month, then rewrote the script from the beginning until the end. The staff worked nonstop to finish about 80 pages within a month. The pressure was huge. I was sick both physically and mentally”.

Director Kim shared, “Due to mental and physical stress, I experienced hair loss, cervical disc issues, irritable bowel syndrome, and problems with my autonomic nervous system. There wasn’t a single part of my body that didn’t hurt. Even after completing the production, my body has not recovered”.

In particular, he said, “Some actors who acted together with Kim Sae Ron lost their screen time. In that cast, some of them might have felt very unfair”, adding “ I tried removing this part and adding that part. But it’s too bad that I couldn’t do more. I and the Netflix staff did our best.”
