BLACKPINK to appear on Inkigayo, “We don’t mind sleeping less since we want to perform on music shows”

The stage for BLACKPINK’s pre-release single “Pink Venom” was released for the first time, captivating the eyes and years of fans all over the globe.

On August 27th, YG Entertainment posted a video of BLACKPINK’s special stage for “Pink Venom” on their official YouTube account.

This is a performance stage which utilizes YG’s own production system, boasting a high degree of perfection and is optimized for the artists in the agency. Through this, BLACKPINK truly radiated an overwhelming charisma via their powerful yet delicate dance lines, a variety of facial expressions,  and a sense of immersion so strong that viewers find their eyes drawn to the screen.

In addition, BLACKPINK showed off their stable live singing despite the intense choreography, combined with the sharp rapping of Jennie and Lisa and the fatal vocals of Jisoo and Rosé. These were all in harmony with “Pink Venom”s intense beat and old school hip-hop vibe, invoking admiration from global fans.

The stage, which was created only for BLACKPINK, made their presence stand out even more. The set was decorated with huge fangs and thorny bushes, while the visuals on the large LED screen and the dynamic camera work doubled the pleasure and maximized the message of the song.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will also perform “Pink Venom” on SBS music show “Inkigayo”, which will be broadcast on the afternoon of August 28th. This will be the only broadcast of BLACKPINK on Korean music shows, as the group is busy with various promotional schedules for the 2nd full album, which will be released on September 16th, the filming for their title song’s MV, and the preparation for a large-scale world tour.

Regarding this, YG Entertainment said: “It was a situation where we could not spare time, but BLACKPINK members showed a great will to go on a music show stage, thinking about their fans who have been waiting for a long time, despite them having to sleep less because of it. In the end, while in the process of filming for the title song’s MV, we pre-recorded a performance for Inkigayo early in the morning.”

As a world-famous girl group, BLACKPINK is gaining popularity on YouTube and other overseas charts. BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” MV became the fastest MV to reach 100 million views among Kpop girl groups (29 hours and 35 minutes), and surpassed 200 million views in 7 days and a half. The single also topped the iTunes song charts in a total of 75 countries.

In addition, “Pink Venom” climbed to #2 on the world’s largest music streaming platform Spotify Top Songs Global Weekly Chart, the highest ranking in K-Pop history, and entered the UK’s Official Singles Chart for the first time at #22, proving that it has secured popular popularity in the mainstream pop market as well.
