Blackpink ‘Pink Venom’ MV gained 300 million views… Double slope on the day of comeback

Girl group BLACKPINK surpassed 300 million views on YouTube for their pre-released song ‘Pink Venom’ ahead of the release of their 2nd regular album ‘BORN PINK’ at 1 PM today.

According to YG Entertainment on the 16th, Blackpink‘s ‘Pink Venom’ music video surpassed 300 million views on YouTube at 9:31 am on the same day. It has been about 28 days since it was released at 1 PM on August 19th.

Earlier, the music video for ‘Pink Venom’ broke 90.4 million views on YouTube in 24 hours, breaking the world record for a female artist. After reaching 100 million views at the fastest speed (29 hours 35 minutes) among K-pop girl groups, it surpassed 200 million views in 7 days and a half day.

‘Pink Venom’ topped the iTunes charts in 75 countries immediately after its release, and ranked second on the Spotify Top Songs Global Weekly Chart, the highest ranking of K-Pop artists. In addition, it topped the Billboard Global 200 for two weeks in a row, and topped the Billboard Global chart for three weeks in a row.

‘Pink Venom’ is a hip-hop genre song with BLACKPINK’s unique charisma. The sound of a traditional Korean instrument in harmony with the strong beat catches the ears from the intro, and the sharp rap and deadly vocals that are put on top of it, maximize the charm of each of the four members.

BLACKPINK continues its popularity with their 2nd regular album ‘BORN PINK’ at 1 pm on the 16th. The title song ‘Shut Down’ is an impressive song that combines Paganini’s sensuously sampled classic number ‘La Campanella’ with a trendy hip-hop beat. The music video is receiving high expectations from global music fans with the highest production cost in YG history.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will hold a ‘Countdown Party’ on the official YouTube channel an hour before their comeback to introduce new songs and tell colorful stories about future activities.
