BLACKPINK to hold a comeback countdown party on September 16th

BLACKPINK will meet fans around the world one hour before their comeback.

YG Entertainment announced on September 9th, “BLACKPINK will hold a countdown party to celebrate the release of their 2nd full album ‘BORN PINK’ on their official YouTube channel from 12 PM KST on September 16th.”

According to YG Entertainment, the live broadcast will be held on a large set using the concept of the title track “Shut Down”. BLACKPINK plans to introduce new songs and tell various stories about their future activities.

Fans will also get to hear spoilers about BLACKPINK’s upcoming world tour, which is set to have the largest scale in the history of a K-pop female act. A corner where BLACKPINK directly conveys their gratitude to BLINKs is also prepared and is expected to present a meaningful moment to the fans.

BLACKPINK’s 2nd full album “BORN PINK” will be released at 1 PM KST on September 16th. In addition to the title track “Shut Down” and the pre-release single “Pink Venom”, the album has a total of 8 tracks including “Typa Girl”, “Yeah Yeah Yeah”, “Hard to Love”, “The Happiest Girl”, “Tally” and “Ready For Love”.

As BLACKPINK has already proved their overwhelming presence in the mainstream pop market with the pre-release single “Pink Venom”, the release of the rest of “BORN PINK” is expected to receive even hotter reactions.

“Pink Venom” climbed to No. 2 on the Spotify Top Songs Global Weekly Chart, topped both the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global for two weeks in a row. It peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Charts, respectively.

BLACKPINK will go on a world tour starting from October 15th and 16th at KSPO DOME, Olympic Park, Seoul. Starting with Seoul, BLACKPINK is expected to attract a total of 1.5 million concert attendees from North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
