BLACKPINK, “Billboard 200 No.1, the glorious moment made by fans. We love you so much”

BLACKPINK delivered their deep gratitude to global music fans after becoming the first girl group in the world to top Billboard 200 since 2008.

On September 26th, BLACKPINK said through their agency YG Entertainment, “It’s an honorable moment that BLINKs (BLACKPINK’s fandom) made for us. Thank you so much and we love you. We’re happy that this album, which contains the great efforts of many staff members who put their heads together with us, seems to have properly reached so many people”, expressing their feelings.

On September 24th, BLACKPINK also surpassed their own record of placing #2 on the U.K Official Album Chart set by the first full album and settled for #1. BLACKPINK is the only Asian female artist to dominate the world’s two biggest charts at the same time and the first girl group in 21 years since Destiny’s Child (2001) to conquer the global music market.

BLACKPINK’s overwhelming influence is also shown on Youtube. The group entered the “TOP 5 Most Subscribed Youtube Channels” for the first time as a non-English-speaking artist in July 2020, quickly overtook leading artists, and finally rose to No.1 among global artists on September 10th, 2021. BLACKPINK currently has 81.8 million subscribers, 33 videos with billion views, and 26.9 billion cumulative views, proving that they are the best in this field without a rival.
