BIGBANG members are back: Will they prove their legendary class?

BIGBANG, once dubbed the “King of K-pop”, is back.

The first one in “The Return of BIGBANG” was Taeyang. Taeyang made a comeback with the single “Vibe” (feat. BTS Jimin) on Jan 13th. It topped major music charts in Korea and was streamed more than 100 million times on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. “Vibe” recorded 100,624,044 cumulative plays (as of March 19th). With this, Taeyang has his second Spotify song with 100 million streams after “Eyes, Nose, Lips”.

taeyang

Taeyang, who announced the resumption of his activities with such a splendid record, will return with a new album in April. It has been 6 years since he came back with an album through “White Night” (2017). This album also includes a number of songs that Taeyang directly participated in, and it is said that he has even finished filming the music video, raising expectations.

Still Life

Daesung, who turned into a YouTuber after being discharged from the military, is appearing on a number of entertainment shows. Daesung’s first move after leaving the agency YG Entertainment in December last year was MBC’s “Point of Omniscient Interfere”. Daesung met Taeyang, Go Kyung Pyo and Joo Won, who served in the military together with him, and brought laughter with his “variety show ability”. Following this, Daesung appeared on Channel A’s “Cohabitation, Not Marriage” and showed off his outspoken volubility. In particular, Daesung mentioned Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin and expressed his candid feelings about marriage, “Taeyang is naturally stable but I think his center is more grounded now. When you feel that way from the people around you, you will naturally open up to the idea of marriage.” Attention is focused on what kind of image Daesung, who is active on entertainment shows, will show as a singer.

g-dragon

G-Dragon, who made fans wait for him for 6 years since the album “Kwon Ji Yong” released in 2017, finally heralded a comeback. In an interview with a magazine, he said, “There were various ways to greet fans when I was active. However, it has been 6 years since I released an album… I wanted to tell my fans that I hope they would include news of my activities among the things they look forward to in the new year. I have to release a new album. I made a promise. I’m preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it within 3 months. It will be possible if everything goes as planned.” Fans around the world are paying attention to the album, songs and concept that G-Dragon, who has been called a “genius ahead of his time”, will bring this time.

“Legendary group” BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Daesung and G-Dragon are active in different places. It is expected that the three will once again unite under the name “BIGBANG” following the release of “Still Life” in April last year.
