In response to fans’ rage, Baek Ye Rin eventually opened up about the current situation of her LP release
Singer Baek Ye Rin left a long message on SNS explaining a few things related to her 10th-anniversary LP release.
On November 26th, Baek Ye Rin posted on Instagram, “Many people were upset when I released LP for my first full album for the first time. I and Blue Vinyl staff, who manages me as their first artist, couldn’t predict the production scale accurately according to the demand, so we released it for the first time based on the most common LP sales record in Korea. Many of you must have been upset even after the re-release, but I wanted to explain that it takes lots of processes to release an LP.”
She continued, “First of all, I had planned this project for two years. After realizing that this process required too many complex procedures and a considerable amount of time, I began to proceed with practical production”, adding “The reason I really wanted to do this project despite knowing it would take a really long time to complete it was that I believed it would be nice to give you a gift in my 10th anniversary since I had no plans for pop-up stores or other events.”
Baek Ye Rin added, “In Korea, it’s quite risky to produce an LP in large quantities. I heard that it is not easy for overseas factories to find companies that can supply huge demands since the global demand for LPs is increasing. We could not guarantee the production deadline if we produced the LP in a larger quantity.”
Roughly informing fans about the production and process for an LP release, Baek Ye Rin said, “Of course, I understand that you are upset and angry because some people are selling it at a premium. I and Blue Vinyl have also done the best we could.”
She said, “Due to the difficulty in mass production and supply, the quantity in our plan is inevitably limited, but we will continue to open resale whenever it is possible for us to do so! Don’t worry”, adding “I hope you understand our position so that I can continue to release new albums and carry out other promotions.”
Earlier, Baek Ye Rin’s agency Blue Vinyl introduced the release of “Baek Ye Rin’s 10th anniversary LP” on their official Instagram. Baek Ye Rin’s 10th anniversary LP is currently being produced overseas and will be officially released in February next year. Fans could make preorders starting from 2 p.m on November 25th. The agency said, “The vinyl will only be sold in a fixed quantity. You can purchase it in advance through pre-order and receive the product after the production is completed”.
In response to this notice, many people expressed doubts about the production process, such as the agency’s LP reservation method and quantity.
Netizens commented, “Why do you mention a ‘resale’? If you were to make only a limited quantity, you should produce them all in advance and send them to the people who made the first purchases. Resale and next year’s delivery? Aren’t you trying to produce and sell as many as the orders?”, “They didn’t announce the price or where to buy the LP in advance.
