Attendees sell BTS Jamboree photocards even before the performance

Even before the start of the Jamboree Kpop Concert, listings of giveaway BTS photocards have appeared on online resale platforms.

On an online resale platform, a post stated, “Selling limited BTS Jamboree photocards, unopened products, at 10,000 KRW each.” The same post also mentioned a set of all 14 cards can be purchased for 120,000 KRW.

This seller had taken pictures of the said BTS photocards inside the Seoul WorldCup Stadium’s seating area. It seems that they posted on the online resale platform immediately after receiving the photocards, even before the performance started.

HYBE previously announced that they would provide 43,000 sets (worth 800 million KRW) of BTS photocards to all attendees of the Jamboree Kpop Concert. At the time, Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism praised HYBE, stating, “HYBE voluntarily prepared BTS’s photocards for each scout member.”

The provided photocard set includes seven different photocards, each of which featuring one BTS member. This photocard set is currently being sold for 19,000 KRW at HYBE Insight, a merchandise store and museum affiliated with HYBE.

Regarding the listings of this giveaway set on resale platforms, many are worried that the meaning behind the gifts for Jamboree Kpop Concert attendees will be tarnished. It seems these concerns are coming to fruition as the photocards are being listed for sale, even before the start of the performance.

In the past, there was a lot of public attention regarding whether BTS would perform at the 2023 Jamboree Kpop concert. The political sphere even joined in, suggesting that the Ministry of National Defense should secure BTS’s appearance. This led to criticisms that HYBE was using BTS to cover up the mistakes made by the organizers of the Jamboree event, which had experienced various issues.

In the end, BTS’s participation in the concert fell through, and instead of BTS, NewJeans and fromis_9 represented HYBE artists at the Jamboree Kpop Concert.
