Biography
Park Ji-hoon is a South Korean singer and actor. He initially gained public attention as a child actor and advertisement model before rising to fame through the reality competition series Produce 101 Season 2 and subsequently debuting as a member of the boy group Wanna One. Following the group’s disbandment in 2019, he has been active as a solo artist and actor.
Early Life and Education
Park Ji-hoon was born on May 29, 1999, in Masan, South Korea. Although originally from Gyeongsang Province, his family moved to Seoul when he was seven years old. Park was active as a child actor and performer, which included musical theatre roles during his youth. He attended National Middle School of Traditional Arts, majoring in musical theatre, and later studied broadcasting arts at the School of Performing Arts Seoul, graduating in January 2018. He was accepted into Chung-Ang University’s Department of Theater in 2018.
Career
Child Acting and Musical Beginnings (2006–2016)
Park began his entertainment career at a young age as a child actor and advertisement model. He appeared in television series and musicals throughout his early childhood, including productions of Peter Pan, The Harmonium in My Memory, and Radio Star.
Breakthrough with Produce 101 and Wanna One (2017–2019)
In 2017, Park rose to widespread fame by competing in Mnet’s reality competition series Produce 101 Season 2, where he finished in second place. As a result, he debuted as a member of the project boy group Wanna One on August 7, 2017. Wanna One enjoyed massive commercial success in Korea and internationally until the group’s official disbandment in January 2019.
Solo Music Career (2019–Present)
Following Wanna One’s disbandment, Park launched his solo music career. He released his debut extended play O’Clock on March 26, 2019, marking his transition into a solo artist. Since then, he has continued to release music as a solo performer, including subsequent EPs and singles that showcase his versatility in K-pop, R&B, and contemporary genres.
