This is the first time that an SM boy group has achieved this impressive digital achievement.
2022 is the heyday period for girl groups as groups like BLACKPINK, IVE, NewJeans, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM,… all reach the top of the digital music charts. Only a few boy groups, in contrast, have had success on digital music charts.
However, NCT DREAM‘s latest comeback with the title song “Candy,” soared to No. 1 Melon Top 100 – one of Korea’s most popular digital music charts. NCT DREAM is also the first male artist in the history of SM to achieve this milestone.
Other songs on NCT DREAM’s winter album also have impressive positions, helping the group achieve All-kill on the Melon Realtime chart. The song Graduation reached No. 2 and Tangerine Love reached No. 3.
The title track of this album is a remake of H.O.T’s hit “Candy”, released in 1996. The group recreated ‘Candy’ into a very cute version, and it quickly achieved several exceptional achievements, including first place on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart and first place on the Top Albums in 16 countries.
