Amid tax evasion suspicions, “True Beauty” webtoon writer Meow quietly deleted her supercar photos

Webtoon artist Yaongyi (Kim Na Young), who became famous thanks to “True Beauty”, is embroiled in tax evasion allegations.

On February 9th, Yonhap News Agency reported, “The National Tax Service of Korea has launched a tax investigation into 80 people, including celebrities, YouTubers, and webtoon writers”. Accordingly, they bragged about buying supercars using company cards and even siphoned off money in the name of relatives and employees.

Webtoon writers reportedly evaded tax by supplying their works to corporations without issuing tax invoices.

In addition, the media attached a photo showing a woman posing in front of a red supercar in its article. The main character in the photo was covered with a mosaic effect. However, shortly after the article was published, netizens found out that the original one was posted by Yaongyi on her Instagram account. The 400-million-won supercar in the photo was already sold by Yaongyi last year after she suffered malicious comments.
