Before ILLIT, Another HYBE Girl Group was Criticized for “Worst Encore in K-pop”
An encore stage of a HYBE girl group is resurfacing and drawing criticisms after ILLIT came under fire for poor live singing.
Recently, HYBE’s latest girl group, ILLIT, drew criticism for an encore stage where they revealed poor live-singing skills. However, another HYBE girl group has come under fire and it’s none other than fromis_9, who is currently under the subsidiary Pledis Entertainment.
Particularly, an encore stage of fromi_9 back in January 2022 at the music show “The Show”, has resurrected.
In the video, the girl group attempted to sing their song “DM” live, leading to a “disastrous” performance.
Particularly, despite only standing and not making any difficult movements, fromis_9’s voice was shaky, and the group was unable to handle high notes. The singing also had the wrong timing and tone, creating a rather unpleasant dissonance.
As a result, many netizens even took to the comments, expressing that fromis_9’s encore is “the worst in history” for them. Some even brought up previous accusations that all of HYBE girl groups cannot sing.
On the other hand, fromis_9 was formed through the 2017 survival show “Idol School”. However, due to the producer’s vote manipulation scandal, fromis_9’s line-up ended up getting criticized, to the point of being called a “cheater group””.
The girl group is currently signed under Pledis Entertainment – home to groups like SEVENTEEN and TWS and a subsidiary of HYBE.
