This famous actor was once hated by viewers for playing villains in “A Werewolf Boy” and “Architecture 101”

He often plays loveable characters now, but Yoo Yeon Seok has a completely different past.

Yoo Yeon Seok, who made his film debut in 2003 as a younger version of Yoo Ji Tae in director Park Chan Wook’s film “Old Boy”, has since built up his acting skills by appearing in various works, from dramas to movies.

However, there was once a perception that Yoo Yeon Seok was an actor specializing in antagonistic roles when he was a rookie, probably because the villain image he portrayed in “Architecture 101” and “A Werewolf Boy” was too strong. He escaped this image through the drama “Reply 1994”, which aired in 2013.

In “Reply 1994”, he played Chilbong, capturing the hearts of viewers by portraying the fluttering excitement of first love. Yoo Yeon Seok also got a turning point in acting starting from this drama.

After clearly proving his potential as the main character, he took on a challenge in a medical drama through SBS’s “Dr. Romantic”. He played Kang Dong Joo, a skillful and confident surgeon and added fun to the drama with his romance with Seo Hyun Jin, receiving countless positive reviews.

After that, he starred in tvN’s “Hospital Playlist” as a pediatric surgeon. He played a doctor again but gave off a totally different charm, giving viewers freshness. He became a hot topic by showing excellent friendship chemistry with actors Jeon Mi Do, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung, and Jo Jung Suk.

In addition, Yoo Yeon Seok expanded his range of activities as an actor by challenging new images in various works such as the dramas such as dramas “Mr. Sunshine,” “Narco Saints,” movies “Love, Lies,” and “Steel Rain 2: Summit.”

Especially in “Mr. Sunshine”, Yoo Yeon Seok impressed viewers by boasting intense charisma in contrast to the good image he had shown before and acting brilliantly in a sad love line that he could not get the girl.
