The secret of Summer (assumed name) in “Secret Romance” has been revealed.

On September 28th, an article titled “A former female idol who dated a person for 8 years even during her idol promotions” was posted on the online community Instiz.

The article’s author uploaded a screenshot photo and explained, “In yesterday’s episode of ‘Secret Romance’, the secret of Summer, who used to work as an idol in groups NeonPunch and XUM, was revealed”.

The video cut from the September 27th broadcast of KBS Joy’s entertainment program “Secret Romance” shows an interview in which Summer talked about her secret.

Introducing herself as a 28-year-old woman, Summer said, “I used to be an idol and now I’m doing clothing business”, adding “My secret is that… I dated a person for 8 years”.

Regarding the reason why she chose her long-term romantic relationship as a secret, Summer honestly shared, “If I talk about my long-term relationship with my ex in the first meeting with someone else, the other person may think ‘She hasn’t forgotten that person yet’. In fact, I’ve met many people who are similar to my ex-boyfriend”.

Regarding her long dating period back then, Summer confessed, “We met when I was 20 and dated until I was 28”, adding “I was dating him even during my idol activities. We began dating in April 2014 and broke up in April this year”.

Summer, who had just broken up for a month when she did the pre-interview for the show, shared, “I was very careful before deciding to appear on the program”, adding “The reason we broke was that we fought and argued for the same reason”.

When the production team asked, “Do you think you’ll be shaken if he contacts you again now?”, Summer replied, “I don’t think we should do that anymore”.

Meanwhile, Summer’s real name is Hwang Yeon-kyung. She debuted in 2018 and carried out idol activities with the girl group NeonPunch under the stage name Dayeon. She later re-debuted in the 3-member girl group XUM in 2020.
