Actors Jung Kyung Ho and Choi Sooyoung have officially ended their relationship after nearly 14 years together, bringing one of South Korea’s longest-running celebrity romances to a close.
On June 9, Sooyoung’s agency, SARAM Entertainment, confirmed the couple’s split, stating that the two had ended their romantic relationship and decided to remain good colleagues. Jung Kyung Ho’s side also acknowledged the breakup, officially confirming the end of their long-term romance.

Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung, both alumni of the Department of Theater and Film at Chung-Ang University, reportedly became a couple in September 2012. They went public with their relationship in 2014 and went on to become one of the entertainment industry’s most beloved and enduring couples.
According to reports, the pair gradually grew apart due to their increasingly busy schedules, ultimately leading to an amicable separation.
Following the official announcement, internet users began revisiting signs that some now believe hinted at the breakup. Recent reports noted that Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung had unfollowed each other on social media, a move that has since been interpreted as a possible indication that their relationship had already ended. However, many fans have expressed shock over the news, given the couple’s long history together and the mutual affection and trust they consistently displayed throughout their relationship.

Amid the breakup news, comments made by fortune teller Myeong Doryeong have resurfaced online. In a video released in December last year, Myeong Doryeong reportedly conducted a “blind fortune reading” using only the birth dates of Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung to analyze their compatibility and future. During the reading, he predicted that although the pair appeared comfortable together and had likely been dating for a long time, he did not see a strong marital connection between them.
According to the fortune teller, the relationship would struggle to lead to marriage and could eventually face separation. He also claimed that while the woman would be more eager for marriage, the man would be hesitant due to family-related concerns and other circumstances. He further predicted that if the couple were to break up, the man’s marriage would be delayed, while the woman would receive new marriage prospects relatively soon after the separation.
As news of the breakup continues to dominate online discussions, fans have also begun revisiting previous interviews and public comments made by both stars, searching for possible clues that may have foreshadowed the end of their relationship.

Despite these retrospective interpretations, many observers note that Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung never hid their affection for one another during public appearances, making the breakup all the more bittersweet for longtime supporters.
Although their 14-year relationship ended in separation rather than marriage, both actors are expected to continue focusing on their respective careers. Jung Kyung Ho is set to appear in the upcoming ENA drama Tempting Romance, scheduled to air next year. Meanwhile, Sooyoung is currently starring in the stage production of The Merchant of Venice at the National Theater of Korea Haeoreum Grand Theater.
Their breakup marks the end of one of K-entertainment’s most celebrated long-term relationships, leaving fans saddened while wishing both stars success in their future endeavors.
