Girls’ Generation member and actress Sooyoung and actor Jung Kyung-ho have officially ended their 14-year relationship.
Earlier on June 9, breakup rumors surrounding the longtime celebrity couple spread online after fans noticed that Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho were no longer following each other on social media. As neither star appeared in the other’s following list, speculation quickly grew across online communities and social platforms, with some netizens wondering whether the pair had quietly gone their separate ways.

Comments such as “Did they break up?” and “It’s shocking because they were one of the longest-lasting celebrity couples” spread rapidly online, drawing attention to the status of their relationship.
Later that day, both agencies officially confirmed the breakup.
A representative from Sooyoung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, told local media, “It is true that Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho have broken up. They decided to remain good colleagues.”
Jung Kyung-ho’s agency, Management Allum, also confirmed the news, stating, “It is true that the two have broken up,” while adding that further details could not be disclosed due to privacy concerns.

Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho first went public with their relationship in January 2014 after dating rumors surfaced. However, the two had reportedly been together since 2012. Over the years, they openly expressed affection for one another through interviews and television appearances, becoming one of the entertainment industry’s most admired long-term couples.
In particular, while several other Girls’ Generation members who publicly acknowledged relationships eventually announced breakups, Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho remained the only couple to continue their relationship, earning support from fans for more than a decade.

After 14 years together, the two have now decided to part ways romantically and continue supporting each other as colleagues.
Sooyoung, who debuted with Girls’ Generation in 2007, has successfully balanced her idol and acting careers. Her next project is KBS2 weekend drama “I Went to School,” scheduled to air next year.
Jung Kyung-ho, who debuted as part of KBS’s 20th class of public talent recruits in 2003, has earned praise for his performances in dramas including “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” “Missing 9,” and “Prison Playbook.” He is currently filming ENA’s romantic comedy “A Tempting Romance.”
