Businessman Huang Youlong, the ex-husband of Zhao Wei, is facing legal action over an alleged gambling debt dating back a decade.
According to Hong Kong businesswoman Cai Yifeng, Huang Youlong borrowed AUD 60 million from the Sun City Group to gamble in Australia around 10 years ago. As the guarantor for the loan, Cai Yifeng claims she was entitled to receive a commission exceeding AUD 100 million under their agreement. However, she alleges Huang Youlong has yet to repay the debt.

Huang Youlong’s legal team argued in court that the loan was made directly with Sun City Group, meaning only the lender has the right to pursue repayment. They also contended that Cai Yifeng is not the actual creditor. Cai Yifeng disputed this claim, stating that she, Huang Youlong, and former Sun City chairman Alvin Chau had reached an agreement through a video call before the loan was issued.
The court also rejected Huang Youlong’s request to attend proceedings remotely. His lawyers claimed he is currently in France and suffering from heart-related health issues that prevent long-distance travel. However, the judge ruled that insufficient medical documentation had been provided and ordered Huang Youlong to appear in person at the next hearing.
The lawsuit adds to Huang Youlong’s growing financial troubles. Since 2024, he has reportedly faced multiple debt claims from creditors while largely disappearing from public view.

Meanwhile, Zhao Wei publicly announced their divorce in December 2024 and stressed that she bears no responsibility for Huang’s financial obligations. Once considered one of China’s most powerful celebrity couples, Zhao Wei and Huang Youlong amassed substantial wealth through investments in film, entertainment, technology, real estate, and other industries.
Zhao Wei, best known for her role as Xiao Yanzi in My Fair Princess, has maintained a low profile in recent years following her 2021 industry crackdown and subsequent disappearance from major Chinese entertainment platforms.
