During a recent appearance on KBS’s Problem Child in House, the actor was asked whether he had liked Ha Ji Won while filming Hwang Jini in 2006. Jang immediately admitted that he had. “I really did like her,” he said. “I already told her about it. More than 10 years after filming Hwang Jini, we met again, and I told her, ‘I liked you so much back then. I really loved you a lot.’”
Ha Ji Won, who is nine years older than Jang, was also his first female co-star in an on-screen kiss scene. However, his remarks described a one-sided crush rather than confirming that the two actors had dated.

The actor also spoke openly about his current approach to relationships. “I have always dated,” he said. “It would be a lie if I said I had not.” His confession attracted attention because Jang has managed to keep most of his relationships away from the public eye despite his long career and widespread popularity across Asia.
He added that he usually stays in relationships for a long time once he begins dating someone. Jang Geun Suk had previously shared another personal story on JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator. He admitted that he used to drink alone and sometimes call an ex-girlfriend afterward. The actor eventually stopped drinking by himself because he worried that he might contact her again without a clear reason. “Wouldn’t it be strange to suddenly call her and ask, ‘Are you asleep?’” he said.
The revelation received mixed reactions. Some viewers interpreted the calls as evidence that he had difficulty moving on, while others criticized the behavior as potentially intrusive, particularly if the former partner had already entered another relationship.
Jang’s latest comments have again placed his private life in the spotlight, although he has never publicly confirmed the identities of the women he dated. In the past, he was linked to Park Shin Hye, Japanese model Makimu, and a non-celebrity woman, but he denied those dating rumors.
