Han So Hee’s latest appearance at the Cannes Film Festival has become a major topic across Korean online communities, with many netizens expressing shock over her red carpet styling.

The actress attended Cannes alongside fellow Korean star Yoona, both representing luxury brands at the prestigious event. However, unlike Yoona, Han So Hee’s visuals quickly became the center of heated debate online.

For the event, Han So Hee opted for a full menswear-inspired black outfit from head to toe. While the actress is known for bold fashion choices, many netizens felt the styling lacked glamour for a Cannes red carpet appearance. Some even described the look as overly plain and messy compared to the other celebrities present at the festival.

Under Getty Images’ high-resolution cameras, criticism surrounding her makeup and styling intensified even further. Korean netizens commented that Han So Hee appeared unusually pale and exhausted with the heavy Western-style makeup look. Her dark smoky eye makeup and thick false eyelashes also became controversial, with some claiming it made her eyes look tired and bruised.

According to online reactions, many viewers believed the actress was badly styled for her second Cannes appearance. Some even joked that the styling made her look “ghost-like” on the red carpet. Netizens also pointed out that most of Getty Images’ uploaded photos of Han So Hee focused only on her upper body, further fueling discussions about the unflattering angles.

The debate grew larger after internet users compared Han So Hee’s media coverage to Yoona’s during the same event.

Getty Images, one of the world’s largest image distribution agencies for major global events, reportedly uploaded 73 photos of Yoona from various angles, including close-up shots, full-body photos on the Cannes red carpet, and images from the Kering Women in Motion Awards ceremony held during the festival.

In comparison, Han So Hee reportedly received only 43 uploaded images, and many of them were published several hours after the event had already ended. Netizens further claimed that numerous photos featured awkward or unflattering angles, sparking speculation that Western media outlets treated the two Korean actresses differently despite both attending Cannes as brand ambassadors.

The noticeable difference in coverage between Yoona and Han So Hee quickly became another hot discussion topic online, with many netizens debating whether Han So Hee had been unfairly overlooked by international media.
