On April 27, a production press conference for the drama Gold Land was held at Conrad Seoul in Yeongdeungpo, with cast members including Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won, Moon Jung Hee, Lee Kwang Soo, and director Kim Sung Hoon in attendance.
Speaking about her first challenge in the crime genre, Park Bo Young said she was eager to try something new. She explained that after meeting the director, she felt drawn to the idea of breaking away from her usual image. She added that audiences might experience a different emotional response when someone known for a certain type of role makes an unexpected choice.

She also revealed the physical transformation she underwent for the role. The actress shared that the director suggested she lose weight, as her character did not have a happy upbringing and frequently appears in intense escape scenes involving gold. As a result, she continued to lose weight throughout filming. In addition, she reduced her makeup significantly, gradually moving toward a more natural, stripped-down look as production progressed.
Gold Land tells the story of Hee Joo, played by Park Bo Young, who comes into possession of gold bars worth 150 billion won from a smuggling ring. The series follows her desperate struggle to claim the treasure amid a chaotic world filled with greed and betrayal. The drama is set to premiere on April 29.
