gdragon dance performance controversy

On April 27, the Korea Heritage Service announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the JusPeace Foundation, where G-Dragon serves as honorary chairman. The partnership aims to ensure the successful hosting of the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session, set to take place in Busan this July.

The JusPeace Foundation, established in 2024 at G-Dragon’s initiative, combines the values of “justice” and “peace.” The artist contributed by donating his copyrights to help launch the organization and currently holds the position of honorary chairman.

Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate on various initiatives tied to the global event, including organizing and promoting campaigns related to the UNESCO World Heritage Fund.

The Korea Heritage Service noted that the foundation and its affiliated figures may participate in the committee activities, although specific details are yet to be finalized.

Heo Min, head of the Korea Heritage Service, expressed expectations that the foundation’s experience in social contribution projects would help raise awareness and understanding of world heritage and its preservation efforts.

During the event, BIGBANG took the stage at the Outdoor Theatre and officially announced plans for a new album and a world tour in celebration of their 20th anniversary.

G-Dragon shared, “BIGBANG has reached its 20th anniversary. It’s a restart. BIGBANG will continue. We’ve completed preparations for a new album, and the world tour will begin in August.”

Following their first Coachella appearance on April 12, the group returned for a second performance at the same venue, marking a rare full-group stage. Their upcoming tour will be their first in nine years since 2017.

BIGBANG thrilled the crowd with iconic hits such as “BANG BANG BANG,” “FANTASTIC BABY,” “Sober,” “A Fool of Tears,” and “LOSER,” drawing explosive reactions from fans.
