Biography

Han So-hee is a South Korean actress. She is best known for her leading and supporting roles in popular television dramas such as The World of the Married (2020), Nevertheless (2021), My Name (2021), and The Interest of Love (2022). Han has been widely recognized for her versatile acting, compelling portrayals of complex characters, and strong screen presence.

Early Life and Education

Han So-hee was born on November 18, 1994, in Ulsan, South Korea. She grew up in Ulsan and later moved to Seoul to pursue a career in acting. Han graduated from the Department of Performing Arts at Ulsan High School for Arts, where she focused on performance studies. She also completed further training in acting following high school to prepare for her professional career.

Career

Early Career and Breakthrough (2016–2019)

Han So-hee made her acting debut in 2016 with small roles in television series such as Reunited Worlds and Four Men. During these early years, she took on minor roles to build experience and hone her craft.

Her breakthrough came in 2020 when she starred as Yoo-na in the drama The World of the Married. The series became one of the highest-rated Korean cable dramas of all time, and her performance received critical praise, significantly raising her profile.

Leading Roles and Continued Success (2021–Present)

In 2021, Han achieved further acclaim with her leading role in the romance drama Nevertheless, in which she portrayed Yoo Na-bi, a candid and emotionally complex character exploring love and relationships. Her performance was widely praised for its depth and nuance.

Also in 2021, she starred in the Netflix original action thriller My Name as Yoon Ji-woo, a woman who joins a crime syndicate to avenge her father’s death. The role earned international attention and highlighted her versatility across genres.

In 2022, Han starred in the Disney+ romantic music drama Soundtrack #1, portraying Lee Eun-soo, a lyricist who confronts long-standing feelings for her best friend. The series highlighted her softer, emotionally nuanced acting style and expanded her image beyond intense action roles.

In 2023, she headlined the Netflix period action thriller Gyeongseong Creature, playing Yoon Chae-ok, a skilled tracker searching for her missing mother amid the turbulent backdrop of 1945 Gyeongseong. Controversy

On the morning of March 16, 2024, Han So Hee unexpectedly posted a letter admitting to being in a romantic relationship with actor Ryu Jun Yeol. The actress confirmed that they were indeed in a romantic relationship but denied involvement in the relationship between Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol.

Han So Hee revealed that they began dating in early 2024. Meanwhile, the actor and his ex-girlfriend broke up in early 2023, with the breakup being officially announced to the media in November 2023.

Furthermore, in the letter, Han So Hee also apologized to Hyeri for posting a story “mocking” the idol yesterday. At the same time, she pledged to try to control herself and mature in the future.

This information caused a stir on social media, with the community collectively changing their stance. They felt that the actress was trying to cover up her romantic relationship until it was revealed, expressing disappointment in Han So Hee’s behavior. Her recent actions were seen as inconsistent with the image she had built.

According to a post by netizen A, they had spotted the two actors dating in Hawaii. They displayed sweet gestures towards each other, regardless of the gaze of the tourists.

The situation reached its climax when Hyeri suddenly posted a story with the content “How interesting” on her personal Instagram page, while also unfollowing her ex-boyfriend. Netizens speculated that the idol was hinting at her ex-boyfriend’s romantic relationship.

In the end, Han So Hee confirmed her relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol and denied allegations that she was dating the male actor while he was still involved with Hyeri.

However, the couple split ways soon after, concluding the turbulence relationship after just 2 weeks of public dating. As the “controversy” came to a close, however, Han So Hee was suspected of using a private Instagram account to leave malicious comments about Hyeri, causing discussions to resurface.
