Biography

Xiao Dejun, known professionally as Xiaojun, is a Chinese singer, actor, and entertainer based in South Korea. He is best known as a member of the South Korean boy group WayV and a sub-unit of NCT under SM Entertainment and Label V. Xiaojun serves as one of the group’s main vocalists, contributing to its musical identity across Mandarin, Korean, and global releases.

Early Life and Education

Xiaojun was born Xiao Dejun on August 8, 1999 in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. He was raised in a family with musical influence, and from a young age he showed interest in performing arts. Before entering the Korean entertainment industry, Xiaojun participated in the Chinese reality audition program X-Fire in 2015, where he trained and competed with other aspiring idols.

He later entered SM Entertainment as a trainee and was introduced as part of SMROOKIES on July 17, 2018, signaling his potential debut as a future idol.

Career

Debut with WayV (2018–present)

In December 2018, Xiaojun was announced as a member of WayV, the Chinese sub-unit of NCT under SM Entertainment’s international strategy. The group officially debuted on January 17, 2019 with the digital single album The Vision, marking Xiaojun’s debut as a professional idol vocalist.

Since its debut, WayV has released multiple EPs and albums, expanding its presence in C-pop and K-pop markets. Xiaojun has been a consistent musical contributor, known for his strong vocal abilities and stage presence.

Acting and Other Works

Xiaojun made his acting debut in 2021, starring as the lead character Chang Yan in the Chinese web series Hello, My Youth. This role expanded his career beyond music and introduced him to acting audiences.

He has also worked as a host on music programs such as The Show from 2023 to 2025, showcasing his versatility as a performer and media personality.
