Thai-born idol Ten, a member of NCT and WayV, has officially announced the end of his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment after nearly a decade since his debut, personally sharing his thoughts with fans.

On April 6, Ten took to social media, writing, “I thought a lot about how to begin this message. I wondered if there was a better way to share this news, but in the end, I feel both sorry and regretful to deliver it through writing.”

He continued, “I will continue spending time with you as Ten of NCT and WayV, while also starting a new challenge as a solo artist.” Reflecting on his journey, he added, “Since debuting with NCT U in 2016, the time I’ve spent meeting you through NCT and WayV has been filled with precious and happy memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

Ten also expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I left Thailand at a young age to come to Korea, and there were many unfamiliar and frightening moments. But the staff at SM Entertainment sincerely cared for me and always stood by my side. Above all, I exist today because of the fans who stayed with me through every moment. Thank you sincerely.”

Earlier that day, SM Entertainment confirmed in an official statement, “After in-depth discussions with Ten regarding his future activities, we have agreed to conclude his exclusive contract as of April 8.” However, the agency clarified that Ten will continue to participate in group activities, stating, “We will coordinate so that Ten can continue activities with WayV and NCT.”

The company added, *“We express our gratitude to Ten for showing outstanding capabilities in both group and solo activities since his debut, and we sincerely support his new beginning. We will continue to fully support WayV’s activities as well.”*

Ten debuted in 2016 with NCT U’s digital single “The 7th Sense” and later gained global recognition as a member of WayV and SuperM. Known as an all-rounder, he has taken on roles as a main dancer, vocalist, and rapper, earning a strong international fanbase.

With his contract coming to an end, Ten now embarks on a new chapter balancing ongoing group activities while stepping forward into a promising solo career.
