On the January 11 episode of SBS’s variety show Running Man, members of the girl group Apink joined as guests for a game mission titled “Don’t Be Sad Even If You’re Wrong, Tomato.” Song Ji Hyo teamed up with Haha, Jung Eun Ji, and Oh Ha Young to play a picture-based guessing game.
However, from her very first turn, Song Ji Hyo repeatedly made errors, prompting Haha to gently encourage her by saying, “Ji Hyo, I wish you’d show a little more fighting spirit.”
Despite even changing seats to focus better, Song Ji Hyo continued to struggle. This led Haha to jokingly question, “Are you going to quit drinking or not? Swear right now. Promise me.” Though she tried to explain herself, saying she was confused, Song Ji Hyo eventually declared, “I’ll quit drinking!”
The moment drew laughter from both cast members and viewers, especially considering that Song Ji Hyo had recently opened up about her drinking habits on her personal YouTube channel.
In that video, when asked by the production team if she had any plans to quit alcohol, Song Ji Hyo firmly responded, “No. Absolutely not.” However, she did reveal a moment of self-reflection, saying, “I saw the calendar in the office and thought, ‘Am I going to keep living like this?’ Everyone makes resolutions in the new year, so I did think I should try to cut back on drinking.”
When asked how often she drinks, she admitted, “Until two weeks ago, I drank five days a week.”
