kim jang hoon mir wedding photo controversy

On December 21, Kim Jang Hoon posted a message on his social media account that read, “I suddenly felt reality hit me hard at Eun Ah’s little brother—Cheol Yong’s wedding LOL,” alongside a photo taken at the wedding. In the image, Mir (real name Bang Cheol Yong, 34) is seen walking down the aisle with his bride, whose face is clearly visible.

The controversy stems from the fact that neither Mir nor his sister, actress Go Eun Ah, had shared any public content related to the wedding. Go Eun Ah made no mention of the event on her own social media, signaling the family’s intention to keep it private.

Netizens were quick to point out the issue, commenting:

  • “Wasn’t the wedding supposed to be private?”
  • “Even the family avoided posting photos—why reveal the bride’s face?”
  • “It’s basic courtesy to use a mosaic in private weddings.”

This situation recalls a similar incident in April, when singer Insooni posted a photo from Kim Jong Min’s private wedding without censoring the couple’s faces. Insooni later apologized, saying, “I didn’t realize the wedding was private. The couple looked so lovely, and I posted the photo without thinking. I sincerely apologize.”

Mir tied the knot with his girlfriend, a one-year-older non-celebrity, in a private ceremony held in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on December 21.

Mir debuted in 2009 as part of the K-pop boy group MBLAQ and has been active as a YouTuber since 2019. This wedding was meant to be a personal milestone celebrated quietly, but it has now been overshadowed by an avoidable breach of privacy.

As discussions continue online, many are calling for greater awareness and respect for boundaries, especially from public figures when it comes to sharing moments that involve others’ private lives.
