MBLAQ‘s Thunder, known as the younger brother of 2NE1’s Sandara Park, recently shared a poignant message marking a fresh chapter in his life, one year after marrying Mimi, former member of girl group Gugudan.
On June 9, Thunder posted a long letter to fans revealing his reflections on his 16-year career since debuting with MBLAQ in 2009. He said, “When many choose their own paths, I stayed here because of my love for music and have never once abandoned it.”
He also opened up about the struggle with his idol identity, saying, “I feel like the ‘idol’ was a version of me that was not truly me. To shed that, I’ve spent a long time searching for my true self.”

Continuing, Thunder shared how this journey led him to establish his own label, MOOVE LABEL, in June 2023, where both he and his wife Mimi are artists. “Now, I want to hustle with real music, not a fabricated image, rooted in hip-hop culture. Please watch over my future steps,” he requested.
Besides his music career, Thunder has also acted in dramas such as JTBC’s Padam Padam and MBC’s Make a Woman Cry and appeared on Mnet’s Show Me the Money 11 in 2022. After a five-year relationship, he and Mimi tied the knot in 2024.
Thunder’s announcement resonates with many fans as he embraces authentic artistry over idol fame and looks forward to a new era with MOOVE LABEL and his wife.
This personal and professional milestone marks a significant new start for Thunder, showcasing his dedication to music beyond numbers and fame.
