MBLAQ Thunder and Ex-gugudan Mimi’s Surprise Marriage Announcement for Next Year Receives Approval from Sandara Park
MBLAQ’s Thunder and former Gugudan’s Mimi have made a sudden announcement about their marriage next year.
On the episode of KBS2’s ‘Second House 2’ aired on July 20th, MBLAQ’a Thunder and former Gugudan member Mimi visited the couple Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra, who are building their second house in Jinan, Jeollabuk-do.
Thunder and Mimi said, “We’ve been dating for about 4 years. It’s our first public appearance, so we are very nervous.” The two of them met through a bowling gathering where Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra were also present, and they grew closer through this acquaintance. Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra were aware of Thunder and Mimi’s relationship and kept it a secret.
Thunder asked how Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra ended up getting together, to which he replied, “Having a secret relationship was challenging.” Ha Hee Ra said, “We worked on many projects together, so we could comfortably spend about 80% of our time together. When I went to the U.S. for two months for filming, we said, ‘When will you come back? I miss you.’ Then we decided to announce our marriage when he returned.” Choi Soo Jong laughed and said, “After the announcement, I wanted to hold hands and walk along the streets of Myeongdong. But it seems like we couldn’t even walk 100 meters.“
Thunder and Mimi said, “We are seriously considering marriage. We are thinking about next year.” Thunder mentioned that his older sister, Sandara Park, and their parents also gave their approval. Mimi also shared, “My parents also approve of our relationship.” Ha Hee Ra praised them, “The two of you have a pure energy that brightens up the surroundings and you fit well together.“
Thunder and Mimi asked Choi Soo Jong to give a congratulatory speech and even asked him to officiate the wedding. Ha Hee Ra said, “He’s at the age to officiate weddings, but he has never done it before. It’ll be a good opportunity for him to do it this time.” Choi Soo Jong hesitated but accepted the request.
Choi Soo Jong also shared some marriage life tips with Thunder. He said, “You should listen to your wife well. You should respect the way she has lived her life. It’s impossible for two people to agree on everything 100%. If you try to cater only to yourself, it will lead to conflicts. It’s better to not nag and just accept the person you love, then there won’t be any problems.”
Thunder joked, “Mimi is like a cat, and I’m her servant. If she wants to do something, I’ll take care of it, so it’s similar.“
