During a recent Weverse live broadcast, ENHYPEN leader Jungwon took time out of his day off to connect with fans through music and heartfelt conversation. But amid the lighthearted moment, he addressed a growing issue — the presence of sasaeng fans outside his company building.
With a firm tone, Jungwon made an emotional plea:
“Don’t wait in front of the company building. Seriously, don’t wait. If you do, you are not an ENGENE. I’m serious.”
He went on to express how repeated appearances by sasaengs have made things uncomfortable for company staff and fellow fans:
“You guys are always out there whenever I do a live broadcast. It’s such a nuisance for the employees… other fans don’t come because they’re doing it out of respect for us.”
The fandom reaction was swift and angry. Many ENGENEs took to social media to slam those invading the group’s privacy:
- “Can these stupid mother f*ckers stop bothering Jungwon!?”
- “To all the idiots who show up at the building, just live your own life!”
- “I’m honestly curious, do these crazy people not have a life? I feel so bad for them.”
The incident has reignited a wider discussion around idol privacy and the toxic behavior of certain so-called fans who disregard boundaries in pursuit of attention.
Meanwhile, Jungwon is not the only member to speak out. Fellow member Jay also voiced frustration over sasaeng behavior during a previous live broadcast, underlining that this issue is neither isolated nor new.
