In a video interview released on the YouTube channel “Creative Factory – Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA)” titled “The Light of Invention That Made Today, Dreaming of Tomorrow”, Goo Hye Sun described invention as both “discovery and an interest in people.” She emphasized that inventions don’t have to be grand, but often come from small observations in everyday life.
Explaining the inspiration behind her invention of a flat hair roll, she recalled noticing friends walking around with hair rollers still attached, as well as celebrities accidentally showing them on official occasions. She thought, “Wouldn’t it be easier if it could just fold and attach neatly?” and began developing the idea.
Goo also shared a touching vision for the future: “If I become a grandmother one day and see a child using the hair roll I invented, I think it would be fun to say, ‘I created that.’” She added that she hopes to continue drawing inspiration from daily life, using invention as a way to connect with people and contribute to a better world.
Meanwhile, Goo Hye Sun finalized her divorce from actor Ahn Jae Hyun in July 2020. Recently, she drew attention again by making pointed remarks about how her past marriage continues to be consumed in the media.
