On September 30, IU’s official YouTube channel uploaded a new episode of IU TV titled “IU’s cheek is in fashionㅣBehind the scenes of 2025 IU FAN MEET-UP ‘Bye, Summer’ ensemble.” The video showed IU rehearsing with her session band ahead of a fan meet-up, greeting them warmly and performing songs like “Red Sneakers,” “Square’s dream,” and “Name” with her signature emotion.

Amused by the fixed camera angle in front of her microphone, IU asked, “What’s the meaning of this angle?” A staff member explained that it was because she wasn’t wearing makeup, prompting IU to laugh and remark, “It covers my eyes, nose, and mouth completely.”

Later, IU playfully used the camera as a mirror and expressed satisfaction with her current look. “Don’t I look better now? I’ve gained some weight, and it feels like it suits me. During filming, I put on a little weight, and people said I looked prettier on screen,” she shared, clearly happy with the change.

IU also brought out her red microphone, which she had kept stored for a year, and revisited her early hits “Marshmallow” and “Nagging.” She reflected on the importance of early training: “Back then, I sang these songs endlessly, practiced constantly, and got scolded a lot. Now it just comes out naturally—it’s the power of early education.” She added with amazement, “My teenage voice comes out when I sing these songs. It’s so different.”

Beyond her music, IU also revealed her upcoming acting project. She is set to return to the small screen in 2026 with the MBC drama “Wife of a 21st Century Prince.” The series, set in a constitutional monarchy version of modern-day Korea, follows Chaebol heiress Seong Hui Ju, who is frustrated by her “commoner” status despite having everything, and melancholic Grand Prince Yi An, whose royal blood is his only identity and who has nothing despite being the son of the king. Co-stars include Byeon Woo Seok, Noh Sang Hyun, and Gong Seung Yeon.
