JTBC has confirmed its new romance drama Waiting for Kyung-do for the second half of 2025, starring Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an. The series promises to bring back the bittersweet memories of first love with a refreshing yet emotional storyline.

Waiting for Kyung-do follows Lee Kyung-do (Park Seo-joon), an entertainment reporter, and Seo Ji-woo (Won Ji-an), a troublemaker celebrity. The two first meet and fall in love at the age of 20, only to part ways twice. Years later, fate brings them back together—this time as a reporter who once covered an affair scandal and the wife of the scandal’s central figure.

Despite becoming adults with scars of past relationships, Kyung-do and Ji-woo find themselves drawn to each other again, just like when they were young.

To build anticipation, the production released youthful stills of the characters during their first romance. The photos capture the couple in matching outfits by the seaside, smiling with a mix of innocence and nervous excitement—perfectly evoking the freshness of young love.

Park Seo-joon, who has delivered memorable performances in Fight for My Way, Itaewon Class, and Gyeongseong Creature, teams up with rising actress Won Ji-an, known for D.P. and Juvenile Delinquency.

Behind the camera, director Lim Hyun-wook (King the Land, Reflection of You) collaborates with writer Yoo Young-ah (Thirty-Nine, Divorce Attorney Shin), raising expectations for a heartfelt yet sophisticated romance.

The production team shared: “Through the clumsy yet lovable romance of a couple experiencing their first love, we aim to awaken viewers’ own memories of youthful love. Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an will vividly portray the beauty of both reckless youth and mature affection.”

With its emotional premise and powerhouse cast, Waiting for Kyung-do is set to be one of JTBC’s most anticipated dramas of 2025.
