The legendary K-pop producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung (Rado and Choi Kyu Sung) has officially split after 16 years of collaboration.

According to My Daily on September 12, the duo parted ways earlier in March. While they had been working together since 2009, they formally began using the name Black Eyed Pilseung in 2014. With the breakup, there will no longer be new songs released under the iconic name.

Rado (Song Joo Young) will remain with High Up Entertainment, where he is currently involved in producing a new girl group. Meanwhile, Choi Kyu Sung has left the company and plans to continue his music career independently.

Over the years, Black Eyed Pilseung established themselves as one of the most successful hitmakers in the industry. Their extensive discography includes:

  • TWICE’s “Cheer Up”, “Like OOH-AHH”, “TT”, “Likey”, and “Fancy”
  • Chungha’s “Roller Coaster” and “Gotta Go”
  • Apink’s “I’m So Sick” and “Dumhdurum”
  • SISTAR’s “Loving U” and “Touch My Body”

Their influence was recognized with major accolades, including the Best Producer of the Year Award at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and the Composer of the Year Award at the Gaon Chart Music Awards.

In 2017, the duo expanded into artist management by founding High Up Entertainment, where they successfully launched girl group STAYC, further cementing their reputation as trendsetters in K-pop.

Although their partnership has come to an end, fans remain eager to see what new musical directions Rado and Choi Kyu Sung will pursue individually.
