Japanese weekly magazine Bunshun has reported on an alleged relationship between actor Sakaguchi Kentaro and actress Nagano Mei, suggesting that the two were romantically involved while Sakaguchi was living with another woman.
According to Bunshun, Sakaguchi had been in a relationship with a hair stylist and makeup artist, referred to as A-san, who is three years older than him. The two had reportedly been together for around four years, living under the same roof. However, their relationship ended after A-san expressed her desire to marry, while Sakaguchi wished to “look toward the future” and pursue his goal of becoming an international actor.
The magazine further claimed that Sakaguchi became romantically involved with Nagano Mei approximately three years ago, overlapping with his time with A-san. The report notes that during a gathering, Nagano allegedly referred to Sakaguchi as “Ken-chan” while under the influence of alcohol, mistakenly addressing actor Tanaka Kei by his name.

Nagano’s agency has acknowledged that she and Sakaguchi were once in a relationship, though it declined to comment on whether their romance coincided with his involvement with someone else.
This revelation has drawn attention back to past reports concerning Sakaguchi’s relationships. While he was previously linked to actress Takahata Mitsuki, tensions reportedly arose when Sakaguchi starred alongside Nagano in a drama. Takahata was said to have been displeased with their on-screen closeness and later declined further collaborations with Nagano.
According to the outleton September 9, Sakaguchi has been spotted cohabiting with a woman who is three years older than him. The woman, born in 1988, is reportedly working in the hair and makeup industry. Sakaguchi, born in 1991, is currently 34 years old.

The two were reportedly observed living together since at least August 2025. While the exact timeline of when they began cohabiting remains unclear, the report suggests that their relationship may have started before summer.
Sakaguchi Kentaro rose to fame after his 2014 debut in the film Shanti Days 365 Days, Happy Breath. His resemblance to Korean actor Seo Kang Joon helped him build popularity in South Korea, where he has starred in several cross-cultural projects. He appeared in the Japanese remake of the Korean drama I’m Sorry, I Love You, and more recently in Coupang Play’s original series After Love Comes.
Meanwhile, Sakaguchi starred alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa in the official short film MV for her solo track “DREAM”, which was released to high anticipation. The emotional visual piece, titled LISA – “DREAM” feat. Sakaguchi Kentaro (Official Short Film MV), showcases deep chemistry between the two stars and was praised for its cinematic aesthetics and heartfelt storytelling.
