On August 31, BigHit Music released a rare statement, clarifying, “The artist had a personal connection with the individual mentioned, but that was several years ago. They are not in a relationship now.”
The statement comes after speculative reports and rumors surrounding the two stars began circulating online. BigHit explained their previous silence was due to respect for Jimin’s private life and the privacy of the other party. However, with misinformation and malicious rumors increasing, the agency deemed it necessary to correct the facts.
“We respectfully ask everyone to refrain from spreading groundless speculation about our artist’s private life. Please avoid actions that could harm either party involved,” the agency added, emphasizing the potential harm that could come to Song Da-eun from unfounded public scrutiny.

The artist had a mutual interest and acquaintance with the individual in the past, but that was several years ago, and they are no longer in a romantic relationship.
We kindly ask everyone to refrain from making reckless speculations about their private lives. We also earnestly request that all actions that could cause harm to both the artist and the mentioned individual be stopped.”
Notably, Jimin was recently discharged from military service, marking his return to civilian life. The timing of this statement suggests a desire to clear up any lingering confusion as he resumes public activities.
