A Marriage Overshadowed by Scandal
Lyn had long faced public scrutiny for supporting Lee Soo despite his past controversy. In 2009, Lee Soo, then serving as a public service worker, was indicted for soliciting a minor for sex and received a suspended indictment (prosecution deferred). He admitted to paying a 16-year-old girl ₩400,000 (approx. $300) on three separate occasions but claimed he was unaware of her age.
Although he avoided prison by attending a John School program (education aimed at preventing re-offense), his reputation never fully recovered. When Lyn chose to marry him five years later, she too became a target of criticism, with many questioning her decision to stand by him.
Lyn’s Struggles as the “Defender”
Throughout their marriage, Lyn often defended her husband publicly, sometimes clashing with netizens. At one point, she admitted, “Sex solicitation was true, but there are too many false details being spread. I only wanted to clarify the facts, not erase what happened.”
