A harrowing scandal has shaken the Japanese entertainment industry. A member of the newly debuted girl group Pretty Chuu has reportedly been raped and impregnated by her producer’s boyfriend, prompting the victim to reach out to a YouTuber for help and eventually file a police report.

The alleged victim is 19-year-old Amamiya Shuna, one of six members of Pretty Chuu, a group described by its producer Yurinya as embodying the “strength,” “transience,” “innocence,” and “pure maiden heart” of girls. The group made its stage debut on June 16, and quickly gained attention online.
On August 1, Yurinya, a Japanese influencer with over 1.3 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, released a public statement in response to leaked allegations concerning her boyfriend of five years, Saito Taichi. She confirmed that Saito had impregnated one of the group’s members after speaking with those involved. While Yurinya did not name the victim, media outlets identified her as Amamiya Shuna.

In her statement, Yurinya expressed deep regret and disgust over the actions of her now ex-boyfriend, describing them as “extremely irresponsible and despicable, both as a human being and a working adult.” She publicly cut all ties with him: “As a producer and as an individual, I hereby state clearly that I will have no further connection with Saito Taichi.”
Shortly after, Shuna posted a video on Instagram where she was seen holding hands with someone presumed to be Yurinya, writing: “I’ll work hard with Yurinya.”
Further shocking details were revealed by popular Japanese YouTuber Korekore, who claimed that Saito had stripped and secretly filmed Shuna while she was staying at Yurinya’s house. Although he apologized via the LINE messaging app, Korekore alleges that Saito later raped Shuna while she was asleep, leading to an unwanted pregnancy.
Shuna reportedly had an abortion and took a hiatus from the group. At the time, Pretty Chuu’s management claimed she was suffering from a chronic illness. Korekore further revealed that Saito threatened Shuna to keep the incident hidden, warning her that the truth would harm Yurinya and the group’s reputation. He also allegedly offered her a hush-money settlement of 1 million yen (about $6,752 USD).

After consulting Korekore, whom she had initially contacted for support, Shuna decided to take legal action and filed a police report.

The disturbing case has sparked outrage across social media and renewed scrutiny of power dynamics and exploitation in the idol industry. Fans and advocacy groups alike are now calling for justice and more protective measures for young performers in the J-pop scene.
