A shocking scandal has rocked the Japanese entertainment industry as 19-year-old idol Shuna Amamiya, member of rookie girl group Pretty Chuu, was allegedly sexually assaulted and impregnated by Taichi Saito, the long-term boyfriend and business partner of the group’s producer, Yurinya.
According to a report from Yahoo Japan on August 1, the incident occurred when Saito secretly took photos of Shuna while she was asleep at Yurinya’s house. Although he initially apologized, Saito reportedly sexually assaulted Shuna again, which led to her becoming pregnant.

Following the traumatic experience, Shuna took a temporary hiatus, citing a relapse of a previous illness. Behind the scenes, however, she was reportedly threatened by Saito, who warned her not to speak out or he would destroy Pretty Chuu and attempt to silence her with money.
Feeling helpless, Shuna reached out to a YouTuber for help and reported the assault to police. A recorded conversation between Shuna and Saito was later leaked online, igniting massive backlash and public outrage across social media.

In a heartfelt public statement, producer Yurinya confirmed the incident and expressed her unwavering support for Shuna Amamiya, emphasizing that the idol’s mental and physical recovery is her top priority.
“Shuna is going through the hardest time of her life. She has a pure, kind heart, and I urge her to focus on resting and healing. She doesn’t need to engage with social media or push herself mentally right now,” Yurinya stated.
Yurinya also publicly condemned Taichi Saito’s actions and announced she had severed all ties with him — both personally and professionally.

“Pretty Chuu is my life’s work. I’m furious and heartbroken over Mr. Saito’s inexcusable actions. His behavior is both irresponsible and despicable. It has harmed not only Shuna but also the safety and credibility of our company. As a producer and as a human being, I completely denounce his actions and declare that I will no longer have any relationship with him,” she said.

Shuna Amamiya debuted with Pretty Chuu in May 2025, just months before the tragic incident came to light. The scandal has prompted widespread discussion about idol protection, abuse of power, and the mental health of young entertainers in the industry.
As investigations proceed, fans continue to rally around Shuna with messages of support and demands for justice.
