BLACKPINK’s Lisa Interacted with Boyfriend’s Family Despite Zion*sm Criticism, but Is This True?

A fact about the family of BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s rumored lover, Frederic Arnault, has led to heavy criticisms from netizens.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently gained attention for an interaction with the parents of her rumored boyfriend.

Particularly, on October 1 (local time), Lisa attended the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week, and was spotted talking with Bernard Arnault and his wife, Hélène Mercier.

This interaction sparked keen attention, especially as Lisa was said to have basically confirmed her relationship with  Frederic Arnault, the CEO of the watch division for the world’s biggest luxury conglomerate LVMH, and 4th son of Bernard Arnault, the chairman, founder, and CEO of LVMH.

In particular, the female idol recently performed her upcoming song “Moonlit Floor”, which included lyrics believed to be about Frederic, such as, “Green-eyed French boy got me trippin’”.

As Lisa and Frederic have faced dating rumors for a long time and were spotted together on various occasions, many fans have expressed support for the relationship, especially as Lisa seems to be deeply in love to the point of writing lyrics about her rumored boyfriend.

However, many took an opposite stance, pointing out that the family of Frederic are by no means good people.

To specify, according to a news report, the Arnault family is “Hollywood’s biggest supporter of Israel”, donating 120 million USD annually to the Israeli forces, which has been committing war crimes in Palestine and Lebanon.

Upon learning about this, many netizens were shocked, saying that Lisa “disgusts” them for dating someone from this immoral family. Some even go as far as to suspect that by dating such a man, Lisa probably shares the same morals as the aforementioned family.

The issue also draws comparisons to HyunA, who experienced heavy backlash from dating and getting engaged to Yong Jun-hyung, who was associated with the Burning Sun scandal.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • Everyone knows that but keep it quiet because she’s Lisa from BLACKPINK, that’s disgusting. Remember that dating someone = having the same morals as them.
  • Her french boy that has her tripping and his family are helping Israel bomb 3 countries at the same time
  • Not gonna lie as a huge Blink and fan of Lisa ever since I feel like we REALLY need to start holding her accountable at this point. The entire industry is rooted in Zionism issues but there’s a big difference between that and DATING a huge Zionist and making him a LOVE SONG…
  • Like HyunA got attacked because she was dating that guy. Why not Lisa too? yall being selective now
  • Wondering why Kpop idols drinking Starbucks got more hate and outrage than this
  • Lisa’s taste in men is disappointing

However, despite the ongoing opposition, some people pointed out that LVMH didn’t show direct support for Israel.

Among those, Louis Vuitton has issued no official statement of support, and even came under fire in 2024 due to incorporating the imagery of a watermelon, a known symbol representing Palestine, in one of its design.

The reasoning for protests against LVMH, however, seems to have to do with Bernard Arnault’s action of investing in a company called Wiz back in 2021.

Wiz is an Israeli company focusing on cloud security, and the announced financial support, which included contributions from Arnault, Salesforce, and Blackstone, totaled 120 million USD. The company’s founders also includes cybersecurity veterans from the Israel Defense Forces.

Bernard also made another personal investment in this company in 2023.

Meanwhile, LVMH Luxury Ventures, another company under LVMH, have invested in Lusix, an Israeli jewelry company in 2022, but the actual amount of investment was unstated. According to Lusix themselves, however, LVMH and other investors contributed 90 million USD.

Therefore, the Arnault family did not directly donate 120 million USD every year to Israel, but Bernard himself and a company under LVMH did invest in some Israeli companies in unspecified amounts.
