Ex-AOA Choa Reveals Her YouTube Income, “I Earn More Than I Did In AOA”

On July 30th, Ji Seok-jin’s YouTube channel “Jeeseokjin World” uploaded a new content video featuring the guest appearance of former AOA member Choa.

In the video, Choa revealed the hardships and hate she faced after leaving AOA, saying “When I left, I thought, ‘I should try my own thing’, but I got more hate than expected. I was already mentally exhausted so I was in bed for about three years”. Hearing that, Ji Seok-jin comforted her, saying ”You’ve been hit by malicious comments, but there are more people cheering on you.”

Later, the two talked about their YouTube activities. Ji Seok-jin asked, “How many subscribers do you have on YouTube now?”, ChoA replied, “I have 420,000 subscribers now. A month after I started, about 300,000 people subscribed to it. It really helped me gain courage”. 

She continued, “I pretty much making a living off of that. Actually, I think I earn more than I did in AOA”. 

Surprised by Choa’s answer, Ji Seok-jin reacted, “Really? Back then when you were with AOA?”. Choa confessed, “I didn’t get paid that much when I was in AOA because I left in the middle. I left when we started to make a profit…”

Choa debuted as a member of AOA in 2012. The group later gained huge love from the public with their hit songs “Miniskirt”, “Short hair”, “Heart Attack”, etc. In 2017, Choa withdrew from the group due to insomnia and depression then temporarily suspended her activities.
