According to multiple entertainment industry insiders today (March 5th), Onew is wrapping up his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in the first half of this year.
Various possibilities for his future activities are currently being considered.
Onew, who debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008, has been loved for numerous hit songs such as “Replay”, “View”, “Ring Ding Dong” and “Sherlock”.
In 2018, marking his 10th year since debut, Onew released his first solo album “VOICE” and took his first steps as a solo artist. He has been actively engaged in both team and solo activities, shuttling between Korea and Japan. In March last year, he held his first solo concert to meet fans.
After the solo concert, he aimed to continue SHINee’s 15th-anniversary activities with the release of their 8th full-length album. Unfortunately, due to health issues, he had to temporarily suspend his activities.
