On the afternoon of February 27th, a press conference for tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama “The Potato Lab” was held at the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Kang Il-soo and actors Lee Sun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, Lee Hak-joo, Kim Ga-eun and Shin Hyun-seung attended the event.

Lee Sun-bin plays Kim Mi-kyung, a potato-crazy researcher.
Lee Sun-bin has been in a public relationship with actor Lee Kwang-soo. Interestingly, Lee Kwang-soo previously appeared in the spin-off “GBRB Spinoff: Cafeteria Operation” of tvN’s variety show “GBRB: Reap What You Sow”. In the show, actors Yoo Hae-jin and Cha Seung-won personally purchased potatoes and used them as the main ingredient to run a cafeteria. The fact that both Lee Sun-bin and Lee Kwang-soo are participating in potato-related projects has drawn attention.

Lee Sun-bin shared, “Lee Kwang-soo and I always support each other. At first, I found it really fascinating that we both ended up working on projects related to potatoes. More than anything personal, it made me wonder if tvN has some kind of grudge against potatoes (laugh). We talked about how strange the coincidence was.”
Set in a mountain valley at a potato research center, “The Potato Lab” is about a woman named Kim Mi-kyung (Lee Sun-bin), a potato-crazy researcher who is starting a fresh life again, and So Baek-ho (Kang Tae-oh), who energizes her fighting spirit.
tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama “The Potato Lab” is set to premiere on Saturday, March 1st at 9:20 PM KST.
