Line-up and Member Changes
On October 16, 2020, BLACKSWAN debuted with their 1st full-length album “Goodbye RANIA”. The group, formerly known as RANIA, only included one original member, Hyeme, leading to the name change decision.
Upon their debut, BLACKSWAN consisted of members Hyeme, Youngheun, Leia, Fatou, and Judy. However, Hyêm left the group within the same year of debut.
On May 26, 2022, Gabi and Sriya were introduced as new members of BLACKSWAN. However, in July of the same year, Youngheun and Judy were announced to have departed from the group.
With Judy’s departure, BLACKSWAN no longer has a Korean member.
In November 2022, Leia undergone a hiatus before ultimately leaving the group in July 2023.
In December of 2022, new member NVee was officially introduced.

Controversies
Scamming
Back in 2020, Dispatch reported that Hyeme, who was still a member at the time, was accused of scamming a male office worker of 50 million won (approx 45,000 USD). While Hyeme’s contract was already expired at the time, BLACKSWAN went on a hiatus as the issue got resolved.
Bullying
Later on in 2021, Leia claimed that she was being bullied by fellow member Fatou. However, Fatou refuted this allegation, accusing Leia of playing the victim. DR Music later released a statement, saying that BLACKSWAN’s internal issues were distorted and the dispute has been settled.
Copying
In 2023, BLACKSWAN member Fatou was accused of copying BABYMONSTER’s “Batter Up” with her mixtape. However, the female idol later responded to such accusations herself, clarifying that the two songs just use the same sample.
